Cleveland area Haunted Houses
The cool autumn weather is upon us and the leaves are just beginning to change colors, of course that means the haunted houses in Cleveland are officially open for business! We're sure many of you can remember the first time you were allowed to stay up late and watch a scary movie or maybe your parents took you out to a haunted house or corn maze and you experienced that frightened feeling for the first time. Some of you never wanted to experience that scare again and some of you were probably hooked on that scared feeling, either way most people want their kids to experience these things as a family, and what better way than one of the Cleveland area haunted houses! The Cobos Insurance Center blog is your go to destination for seasonal attractions and reviews, so naturally we have compiled a list of the best haunted houses in the Cleveland area, but before we get to the list, lets take a look at how the typical fall haunted house in America came to be.
There are over 1,200 haunted houses across the United States, so our list of haunted houses in Cleveland is just a small sampling of the haunted attractions around our country. Believe it or not, haunted houses are not a recently developed tourist attraction, but we can actually date the spooky scare tactics all the way back to the ancient Egyptians. The Egyptians used scare tactics like moving walls, trap doors, hidden compartments, mazes, and even snakes and spiders to ward off would be tomb raiders. Although they didn't charge admission to the pyramids, many of these scare tactics are still used today in the haunted houses we frequent.
Of course no haunted house would be complete without a few jack-o-lanterns or carved pumpkins around. The carved pumpkin itself was actually a custom brought over from Celtic people who were surprised to see a lack of turnips to harvest during fall in America. The Celtic people used to carve faces in turnips and hang them above their doors to ward off evil spirits around All Hollows Eve. When they got to America and found the lack of turnips, they began to use pumpkins to keep their ritual going. We're guessing that they quickly found out that pumpkins were much easier to carve, since they never went back to the turnips of yesteryear.

When it comes to finding the right insurance policies for everything ranging from your home to your car to even your health, you want to make sure that you have the help you need so you can make the most informed choices. When you have an independent insurance agent on your side, helping you navigate the ins and outs of Cleveland insurance, you are better equipped to find the coverage that fits your individual needs.
An independent insurance agent can help you as an individual, putting your needs in the forefront. While a captive agent can typically only offer you coverage from one insurance provider, an agent from an independent agency can help you find the best fit for you. For example, the health insurance protection that you need may be different than the coverage your neighbor needs. You are a unique person, and you deserve to be treated as one.
Having An Independent Agent Who Understands Your Insurance Needs
There are many benefits to having an independent insurance agent. An independent agent has the ability to advise you with your specific needs in mind. Your situation is not like anyone else’s! To an independent agent, you are more than just a number - and that can make a huge difference for your insurance experience. Another reason it is so important to have an independent insurance agent is your agent can be there for you when you need help. You can talk to you agent when you have any questions - or even concerns - about your coverage and he or she can help you through any issues that come up. Having someone who has your back and insurance expertise can greatly benefit you.
A good thing to keep in mind is you can have all your insurance needs taken care of when you go through an independent agent. Who wants to have to search all over the place for the right insurance policy for the different areas of their life? No one! An independent agent can help you protect every aspect of your life. An independent agent can also offer you choices when it comes to choosing the right policy for your situation. You should not have to have cookie-cutter coverage when you can have the right coverage for your home, your car, your health, and everything in between.
Your insurance policy should be able to offer you some peace of mind. You should not have to wonder if you have the right tools to take care of yourself, your family, and your property, and when you have an independent insurance agent, you can have the assistance you need in order to protect your lifestyle.
There are plenty of good insurance policies out there, but why should you have to figure out which ones fit your particular needs on your own? A Cleveland agent from an independent agency is close to home and understands your needs and wants in a way that someone from the other side of the country could never understand. Without someone with expertise and experience in the insurance world, it can be a confusing and frustrating process - but when you have an independent agent on your side, you can have someone who can offer you clarity and knowhow. You should never have to feel like you are alone when it comes to protecting what you hold dear, and having an agent close to home can be a game-changer.

Your lake home is a place you go to to make memories and to enjoy the great outdoors with your loved ones. You may have had your lake home for years or only acquired it recently, but you probably can’t imagine life without your lake house now. Since you want to make sure that you can enjoy it for many years to come, it is important that you have an Avon Lake insurance policy that fits your needs, rather than gives you cookie-cutter coverage. After all, you want to be prepared for whatever comes your way in the future, and making sure you have the right coverage to protect your lake home in Avon Lake is crucial.
Having the home insurance policy that can take care of your lake home’s needs is an invaluable asset when it comes to protecting your lake home. Whether you are enjoying the lakefront, wading in the water, or maybe taking your boat out for a spin, you love the freedom and comfort that being at your lake house provides you with, and you know that having anything less than the right protection is not an option for your lake home.
Protecting Your Lake Home From the Unexpected
Unfortunately, there are many issues that can arise, seemingly out of the blue at times. The good news is, insuring your lake home with the right insurance coverage can help you deal with whatever issues do come up. Your lake home may be your sanctuary, but that doesn’t mean that vandalism and theft cannot occur on the premises. Having the right Avon lake home insurance to help you take care of such issues should they arise is a vital part of taking care of your lake home.
Having the right coverage to deal with issues like fire and smoke damage is undeniably important. It takes fire no time at all to destroy your property, and smoke damage can ruin your belongings to the point that they have to be replaced. The loss can be very costly for you when you don’t have the insurance protection that can properly safeguard you from having to deal with such loss on your own. Another thing to keep in mind is that having coverage for the effects of damage caused by lightning, windstorm, and other nature-caused issues is important. Nature can be fierce and unforgiving, and being so close to the water can open up doors for extensive water damage and other catastrophes. It is good to know what you might be up against.
Speaking of water issues, you might want to add on coverage to help deal with damage caused by plumbing and sewer issues. Plumbing and sewer back up issues are never a joy to deal with, but adding coverage that aids you in handling the situation can be immensely helpful. Coverage for issues involving mold and fungi can also be a game-changer should you find yourself facing that scenario. Removing mold or fungi from areas that have been contaminated can be an ordeal, and you don’t want to find yourself having to navigate dealing with mold or fungi without the right Avon Lake insurance coverage.
Your lake home is unique and you want to have coverage that fits your situation - after all, your needs may not be the same as your neighbor’s needs. Everyone is different and there is every reason to make sure that your lake home is properly safeguarded for years to come. When you work with an insurance agent who takes your needs into consideration, you are able to get the help you need in order to find the insurance protection that can help give you the peace of mind you long for.

“Apple Hill is a quaint farmers market located in Amherst, Ohio which became part of the Miller family tradition in 1986 to expand the retail opportunities for Miller Orchards. Since that time, Apple Hill has become much more than a farm market where fruit and vegetables are sold. The first expansion was completed in 1994. Garage doors were replaced with permanent walls, windows, and doors. Out with the pot-belly stove and in with an actual furnace which meant Apple Hill could remain open year round and begin carrying bulk food. The business grew and in 1996, Apple Hill expanded again, adding on storage and retail space allowing an expanded inventory.”

Of course apples are fun to pick off of a tree and also come in handy when your child has a loose tooth, but what are some other reasons to reach for an apple? Apples are fat free, sodium and salt free, a great source of fiber, and also cholesterol free. Apples are also a great source of antioxidants and the mineral boron which can help strengthen bones. They can also help you maintain healthy blood sugar levels due to the combination of fiber and fructose. In addition to being good for you, apples also contain natural sugar so they can even give you a quick energy boost. So when you're apple picking in Cleveland, remember you're picking delicious and nutritious fruit!
Make your own Caramel Apple Cider!
We love taking our kids out to local apple orchards, but we really love to make our own hot apple cider when we get home! So, what does it take to make your very own home made caramel apple cider? Lets start with the ingredients you will need to get started, you'll need to go down to your favorite local Cleveland farmers market or super market and pick up; 5-10 apples (either red or green, your choice), 1/3 cup of caramel sauce, 1/3 cup of brown sugar, 8 cups of water, 1/4 teaspoon of allspice, 1 whole clove, 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, 2 cinnamon sticks, and 1 whole orange. Next you will need to get your slow cooker out and start prepping your apples and orange. You will need to cut your apples into quarters and you can actually just throw the entire orange in the slow cooker with the apples. You will want to add the 8 cups of water right after you put the apples and orange in. Next, take all of the other ingredients that we listed (except for the brown sugar and caramel sauce) and throw them in the slow cooker with the apples and orange! You should stir everything up to make sure it is spread throughout the mixture. Set your timer for 6-8 hours and find something else to do, otherwise you will be sitting there watching your slow cooker for way too long!
Once you have let your cider cook for 6-8 hours (and hopefully have gotten something else done in that time), you will want to use a strainer to strain the cider into heat proof pitcher. Now to get that sweet taste, stir in the brown sugar and caramel sauce until it all dissolves. Of course the best way to serve your home made Cleveland caramel apple cider is warm with whipped cream on top! You can even throw in a cinnamon stick to jazz it up a bit. Now that you are an expert at making home made apple cider, you may be thinking to yourself that you could do this full time, and why not? If you think that you could or would want to start your own home based business, be sure to click this sentence and check out our article on insuring your home based business.
Let’s face it: your life in Avon Lake, Ohio, would not be the same without your car. Your vehicle plays a huge part in your day-to-day activities, from driving to work to picking up the kids from school to going grocery shopping. Naturally, you don’t want to think of anything unpleasant ever happening to your car. However, we do ourselves no favors by being underprepared, so making sure that you have the car insurance policy that fits your needs is important. Without the right coverage, the out-of-pocket costs can really add up, and you don’t want one little mishap to drain your finances.
Your car insurance needs are important and you ought to have the auto policy that not only protects your car but offers you the peace of mind you crave. Why settle for a policy that gives you decent coverage when you can have one that fits your unique lifestyle? The fact is, you are not just a number - you are a unique individual who deserves a great auto insurance policy and the peace of mind that comes with being prepared for whatever the future brings.
Coverage That Can Help Safeguard Your Car
Ample property damage liability coverage is important. Should your vehicle cause property damage, you want to have the insurance policy that can help you deal with such a situation. Don’t deal with property damage all on your own when you can have the coverage to safeguard yourself and your vehicle. Collision coverage covers any damage done to your car during a collision with another motor vehicle, which is no small thing. Having to pay for repairs or replacements completely out of pocket can be very costly, so make sure that you have the car insurance policy that takes your needs into consideration.
Bodily injury liability coverage is a key part of a good Ohio car insurance policy. You need your vehicle in Avon Lake to have the bodily injury liability coverage that can help you pay for the other driver’s medical expenses should someone get injured in a collision. Along similar lines, having the medical payment coverage you need is equally important. This offers you coverage for your injury and the injuries of any of your passengers.
Another important aspect of a good Ohio car insurance policy is comprehensive coverage. What does comprehensive coverage do? It takes care of theft, vandalism, hail, windstorms, and other damages that aren’t classified as “accidents.” No matter how nice your neighborhood is or how careful you are, theft and vandalism can still happen, and having the right insurance protection to cover theft and vandalism is important. Since nature can be so unpredictable, it is also absolutely vital that you have coverage to handle disasters weather can wreak on your vehicle. Don’t let the unexpected catch you off-guard.
Last but not least, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage can help protect you if you are in a collision caused by a driver who either has insufficient car insurance coverage or none at all. Why should you have to suffer because the other driver is not responsible enough to be prepared? You shouldn’t! Uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage helps safeguard you from dealing with that scenario on your own. The fact is, you shouldn’t ever have to wonder if you have enough insurance coverage for your car in Avon Lake, Ohio.

Your Cleveland church makes a huge difference in so many lives, and were something to happen to the church and you had insufficient coverage, it would negatively impact many people. That’s one of the reasons it’s so important to have the protection that fits the church - it needs to be able to thrive even when setbacks come your way. Having the right church insurance policy can help you take care of any unpleasant scenarios, should they surface.
