To make it a little bit easier to figure out what you should check out, we’ve made a list of five things to do in Cleveland this fall!
Visit an Apple Orchard
Nothing says fall quite like spending the day at an apple orchard picking out the best apples. Apple pie, apple cider, caramel apples… the list goes on and on but one thing is for sure, apple picking is the go-to fall activity. Don’t forget to take those candid photos, which are just another reason why this activity made it on to our list of five things to do in Cleveland this fall.
Here are a few places to check out for apple-picking:
Patterson Fruit Farm
This fruit farm is about 25 miles from downtown and offers wagon rides on weekends. Not only that, but one of the locations will even let you go for a stroll or a nice bike ride in Orchard Hills Park. They have a chart on their website that tells you when the best week to pick apples is, depending on what you’re using them for. From September 15th through October 28th at the Chesterland location, there are Fun Fest Dates which feature things like pumpkin painting, horse-drawn wagon rides and more.
Pick n’ Save Orchard
Located in Medina, this apple orchard offers you all of the fun and apples you could want at a lower price. Great for any family that wants to partake in the apple picking festivities without the price tag. This company has been family-owned for over 70 years and offers everything from apple picking, to hayrides, to feeding the animals on the farm. All the more reason to throw it on our list of five things to do in Cleveland this fall.
Visit a Pumpkin Patch/Corn Maze
If you want a fall photo, a pumpkin patch is the place to go. Although it may be the most basic fall photo of all time, it is definitely a classic and at the top of our list for five things to do in Cleveland this fall. Not only can you get a picture-perfect photo, you can also grab a pumpkin to carve or to sit outside of your house as a decoration.
Here are a few pumpkin patches to check out:
Pickering Hill Farm
Located in Avon, Ohio, Pickering Hill Farm is a 75 acre farm that has been selling produce for over 90 years. They even hold fall festival events every weekend in October. Wagon rides, corn mazes, apple cider, and, of course, a pumpkin patch. They also have a marketplace area that serves locally made items such as pies, honey, maple syrup, breads, and more
Brasee’s Corn Maze
This corn maze in Wellington, Ohio offers an eight acre corn maze as well as a corn maze and a straw maze for the kids. They also feature hayrides on the weekends as well as pumpkins. You get the best of both worlds at Brasee’s.
For many, one of the best parts of fall is watching the leaves change colors. What better way to see this than to visit a national park? If you’ve been here before, you know that it is always beautiful but we think that the fall season turns it into a whole different kind of sight. Check it out and thank us later. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is home to 22 miles of the Cuyahoga River and has over 900 plant species. If you want to see nature change in the fall, this is your best bet near Cleveland, especially when there are 900 different species to observe. Talk about seeing the seasons change! Great Lakes Brewery is another one you’ll want to check out in the fall time, especially with their special Oktoberfest drink. Great views and a festive, fall drink… What could be better? Both the views and what we hear about this drink definitely factored in Ohio City making it onto the five things to do in Cleveland this fall list.
