It’s finally that time of year where everyone is getting their tax return back. You’re probably thinking of what you’ll do with the money. Maybe you’ll put it towards building that pool your family has been wanting for this upcoming summer. Maybe you’re considering a family vacation to the Bahamas. While those both seem like great ideas, have you considered what your tax return could do for your local community if you donated it?
While there are so many reasons that you should donate your tax return to your favorite Ohio Non-Profit, we wanted to break it down into a few key reasons. Through this you can really understand how much of an impact your tax return could have on those who aren’t as fortunate as you and your family. Reason #1: You’ll be helping your local community A new pool would be nice, but seeing the impact that your dollars could have in your community? That’s priceless. It’s also all the more reason why you should donate your tax return to your favorite Ohio Non-Profit. There are so many nonprofits in Ohio that impact so many people. Whether they make the disabled feel empowered, providing meals for the homeless, or provide mentors to at-risk youth, these non-profit organizations are doing great things for the people of Ohio. The best aspect is that you can be a part of this too! Reason #2: You can write your donation off next year on your tax return We admit, this is a more selfish reason to donate, but it is important to keep in mind that you will be rewarded for the good that you do in your community. You can write off your donations on next year’s tax return, which benefits you in the long run! Who says giving to others can’t be a benefit to you too? This is definitely something to keep in mind when considering why you should donate your tax return to your favorite Ohio Non-Profit organization. Reason #3: Your money goes further than you think While you may think that a few hundred or a few thousand dollars can’t really help that many people, it actually can! You’d be surprised at how your small donation can go a long way in the grand scheme of things. Whether it is another night of meals that a soup kitchen can serve or another 50 children that can join the local mentorship program, you are actually making a big difference. You never know, maybe the non-profit will be able to use your donation for something that lasts years. Maybe your donation will allow a nonprofit on the brink of closing to keep their doors open. You can’t put a limit on what your generosity will do, which is why it is so important to really think about the question of why you should donate your tax return to your favorite Ohio Non-Profit.
